This Cancellation Policy governs all bookings made through Via Kashmir. Individual property vendors may apply stricter cancellation terms — these will be displayed on the property listing and confirmed at checkout. The vendor's policy always applies where it is more restrictive.
1. Standard Cancellation Tiers
GST paid on the booking is non-refundable as it is remitted to the Government of India.
2. How to Cancel a Booking
Go to My Bookings
Navigate to Account → My Bookings and find the booking you wish to cancel.
Click Cancel Booking
Open the booking detail page and click the "Cancel Booking" button. This is available for all bookings that have not yet checked in.
Confirm Cancellation
Review the refund amount you will receive (based on the tier above) and confirm.
Receive Confirmation
A cancellation confirmation email is sent immediately. The refund is processed within 5–7 business days.
3. Booking Modifications
- Date changes are subject to availability and may incur a rate difference
- A booking can be modified up to 48 hours before check-in via the Bookings page or Support Centre
- Reducing the number of nights is treated as a partial cancellation and the standard tiers apply to the cancelled portion
- Upgrades (room type, additional guests) are processed as new charges at the current rate
4. Refund Processing
- Credit/Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard): 5–7 business days
- UPI: within 24 hours
- Net banking: 3–5 business days
- Razorpay Wallet: instant
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. We cannot redirect refunds to a different account.
5. Special Circumstances
Full refunds regardless of notice period are available in the following cases (subject to documentation):
- Natural disasters: flood, earthquake, or other force majeure affecting the destination or your travel route
- Government travel advisories: official advisories restricting travel to Jammu & Kashmir
- Medical emergency: hospitalisation of the primary booker (doctor's certificate required)
- Vendor failure: if the property is unable to honour the booking due to circumstances on their end
- Death in immediate family (death certificate required)
To request a special circumstances refund, contact our Support Centre with supporting documents within 48 hours of the cancellation.
6. Non-Refundable Bookings
Certain bookings are marked as Non-Refundable at the time of booking and are clearly labelled. These bookings carry a lower price in exchange for no cancellation flexibility. No refund is available regardless of notice given.
Non-refundable bookings are still eligible for special circumstances refunds under Section 5 above.
7. Disputes
If you believe a refund has been incorrectly calculated or processed, raise a dispute within 30 days of the cancellation via our Support Centre. We aim to resolve all disputes within 5 business days.
